Deerhunter is part of the Danish company F Engel K/S, a family owned clothing company founded in 1927. Managed by the fourth generation currently, Deerhunter was established in 1985 as a direct result of the Engels family’s passion for hunting and outdoor pursuits.

Engel has grown every year for the past twenty years and successively added to its collections. Today Deerhunter offers a comprehensive range of clothing for hunting and outdoor pursuits. The Deerhunter concept has stood the test of time. Deerhunter is now represented in more than 30 countries across the world, and has earned a solid reputation as the brand of choice when it comes to comfortable and functional high-quality, high-technological clothing. The Deerhunter brand has developed step by step increasing the production accordingly. In recent years exports especially to Europe and the Eastern countries have grown.
While many textile manufacturers have gone abroad concerning both production and administration, F. Engel has decided to stay in Denmark. 80% of the Deerhunter production is destined for exportation and the production is partly taking part in 2 new factories in Lithuania where more than 400 employees are making both work wear and hunting clothing. Part of the production is also taking place in the Far East and the company located in Haderslev is currently cooperating on the 19th consecutive year with the same supplier. In Haderslev 150 persons are employed and recently F. Engel has opened F. Engel GmbH in Hamburg.
